Auditions for FCT’s Musical Group

AUDITIONS FOR STORYPAINTERS

The Storypainters is a new Fauquier Community Theartre sponsored vocal group being developed. The purpose of the group is to promote the theatre and provide entertainment to community organizations and events. The group will initially consist of not more than 12 members ages 21 and older. We will be performing musical entertainment, mostly from Broadway, in and at venues other than our theatre. We will be under the vocal direction of Jim and Sheila Todd. Performances will be scheduled by Christie Clark, FCT’s Marketing and Publicity Director. Auditions will be held on September 17, 2011 by appointment only. Please email Susan Noe for a specific audition appointment.

The intention is to have a 12 member group so that at any request we might have 4 to 6 members able to perform. We intend to show that music and theatre can paint a story in the hearts and minds of the listeners so as to encourage a whole new group of people to become theatre goers. This is a perfect venue for busy people who do not always have the flexibility to participate in the lengthy production schedule of a play.

Come prepared to sing 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway show (sheet music only, NO Cds or a Cappella) and My Country ‘Tis Of Thee (this will be used for harmonizing). We will be doing some simple, basic choreography. Bring your completed audition form with you. You may obtain this form here or on the FCT website under the audition tab.  For questions please contact Susan Noe at susan_noe@yahoo.com.
