Auditions for “Scrooge! The Musical” September 2 and 3, 2024

Fauquier Community Theatre invites you to audition for “Scrooge! The Musical” as the Holiday production for FCT’s 47th anniversary season!
 
Actors and audiences are sure to love this musical based on the classic Charles Dickens tale of “A Christmas Carol.” Book, Music, and Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, the award-winning British composer, lyricist, and playwright.
 
The production is by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. The musical is directed by Jack Tessier with Music Director Anthony Smitha. Choreography is by Gabrielle Tessier.
 
Auditioning for the musical is open to the public and will take place on Monday, September 2, 2024 and Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Pre-registration is required and choice of dates and times are on the online form.
 
Auditions will take place at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green located at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, Virginia.

Ebenezer Scrooge – Main role. Older man whose great wealth has turned his heart to stone. Deaf to the needs of his fellow men, he must journey thru past/present/future to regain the spirit of charity and kindness he once had as a young man.

Bob Cratchit – Hardworking clerk in Scrooge’s employment. Dedicated to his family, especially to his young disabled son Tiny Tim. Maintains a kind heart, even in the face of Scrooge’s meanspiritedness.

Jacob Marley – Scrooge’s dead-as-a-doornail partner. Appears wearing the chains he forged in life to give a warning to Ebeneezer of his fate if he does not change his ways.

The Ghost of Christmas Past – the first spirit. Very mysterious, with a warmth and kindness about her.

Nine performances of “Scrooge! The Musical” will take place between December 6 and December 15, 2024. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 7:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm.
