Although by-passed by the judges, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever received an overwhelming audience endorsement by making it the most profitable production of the season, even at non-musical ticket prices! The Spotlight congratulates Director Dawn Fansler, Producer Evelyn Rice and the enthusiastic cast.

At FCT's Annual Meeting Sunday afternoon June 14th, members attending unanimously elected the following slate of Directors which had been presented: Sherry Bendt (retiring as Treasurer) and Evelyn Rice, whose three-year terms were expiring, and new members Tom Bohacek, Deanna James, and Kevin Tupper.

Tom recently was on the staff of The Mousetrap as Lighting Technician, and designed and helped construct and paint the set of Moon over Buffalo.  Deanna was deeply involved in Annie Get Your Gun as Producer, and Kevin joined to take over the demanding job of Treasurer - his wife Hilary and daughter Holly have been involved in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Annie Get Your Gun and put in hours of work helping clear FCT's costumes, props, scenery and other belongings from the second floor of the white building, prior to its sale.

Vice-President Steve Heyda is retiring from the Board, leaving the following members with unexpired terms: Laurie Abeel, Laurie Bersack, Richard Mulder, Coleen Prenda, Don Richardson, Rodney Smith and Sandy Steinmeyer, for a total of twelve.

At its meeting the following evening, the Board reorganized itself, electing Rich Mulder as President, Evelyn Rice as Vice-president, Kevin Tupper as Treasurer and Coleen Prenda as Secretary.

It's significant that three Board members live nearby in Prince William County, representing much of FCT's talent and audience which come from there and beyond as well as from Fauquier.

Sale of the white building is still pending while the buyers recruit additional investors. Plans to use the proceeds for major improvements to the existing theatre are outlined in the website - www.FCTstage.org.

The Neil Simon romantic comedy opened on Broadway in 1965 starring Elizabeth Ashley and Robert Redford. Audition      and be part of another unforgettable show!

FCT will hold auditions for its production of Children of Eden Friday, June 26 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM and Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Call-backs, if necessary, will be held Sunday, June 28 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Auditions will be held at 4260 Sigler Drive, Vint Hill Farms Station, Warrenton, VA.  The show is being directed by Evelyn Rice.

From Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked) and John Caird of Les Miserables comes a joyous and inspirational musical.  Freely based on the story of Genesis, Children of Eden is a frank, heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. Adam, Eve, Noah and the Father who created them deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet but inspiring message: that "the hardest part of love... is letting go."

Children of Eden is a true ensemble show. Casting will be multi-generational (all ages from 8 to 80 desired) and multi-racial. The show requires strong vocal performance as well as some movement, but no dance experience is required. Those auditioning should come prepared to sing 16 bars from a Broadway show or rock musical. Choral experience is a plus. You must indicate any conflicts for rehearsal dates. Please arrive at the beginning of the audition.

            Performance dates for the show are October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18.

For more information or directions, go to www.fctstage.org or call FCT’s phone line at (540) 349-8760.  In addition, you may contact the Director, Evelyn Rice at eveyluvstheatre@aol.com.
