Casting call! What would you do if you had all of eternity?
 
This spring, enjoy a taste of forever with the new musical, “Tuck Everlasting” at Fauquier Community Theater. All roles are currently open to ages 10 to adults in their eighties! Seeking a strong, dedicated cast of about 24. If you want to play a part in this timeless tale, find the link by clicking on the “Auditions” tab on the menu at FCT’s website: www.FCTstage.org.
 
Pre-registration for auditions is required. Sign-ups are open right now! Auditions will take place at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green on January 26th and 28th, 2024. Exact times are listed on the audition registration form.
 
The production of “Tuck Everlasting” is based on the award-winning novel by Natalie Babbitt. Book is by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, music by Chris Miller, and lyrics by Nathan Tysen.
 
The musical is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. A special thank you to the community sponsor Wakefield School for their support of this musical.
 
Performances of the musical “Tuck Everlasting” will take place at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green located at 4225 Aiken Drive Warrenton, VA. Performances will take place on Fridays and weekends May 3-19. Tickets are for reserved seating and may be purchased online at www.FCTstage.org.
 
Synopsis: “Tuck Everlasting” is a profound and heartwarming story about a young girl with a longing for adventure named Winnie Foster, who runs away from home and discovers a peculiar family with the apparent secret to eternal life! When Winnie discovers this secret, she must fight to protect it from those who would do anything to never die, especially the sinister, enigmatic, and wickedly charming Man in the Yellow Suit. Winnie must learn for herself about the meaning of life, and whether living forever is all that it is claimed to be.
 
There are so many great leads and supporting characters, as well as a critical ensemble that adds so much to the dance, vocal, and emotional foundation of the show. The music is equal parts energetic and heartfelt, moving the show along the percussive ticking of a clock.

A comedy! In The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare’s “merry wives” are Mistress Ford and Mistress Page of the town of Windsor. The two play practical jokes on Mistress Ford’s jealous husband and a visiting knight, Sir John Falstaff. Merry wives, jealous husbands, and predatory knights were common in a kind of play called “citizen comedy” or “city comedy.” Fauquier Community’s production of The Merry Wives of Windsor is directed by Maggie Mumford. Come see what all the laughter is about that includes disguises, elaborate pranks, and unforgettable characters performed by a cast of 15 actors who will have you laughing throughout! FCT Annual Meeting and Lofty Awards

FCT Annual Meeting and Lofty Awards

Be our Guest! The FCT Annual Meeting and Lofty Awards will take place on Sunday, August 20 at 6:30 pm at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green located at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA. The Annual Meeting will include reports from the executive committee and executive director, as well as 2023 – 2024 members electing some additional board members. The Lofty Awards winners will be announced and entertainment will include the theater year in review!

The membership of Fauquier Community Theatre will elect three Directors to the Board for a three-year term at the Annual Meeting on August 20th. FCT seeks to have a diverse Board that represents all of its members and participants. The Board also seeks to have Directors with backgrounds that support specific Board functions, such as fundraising and community outreach, as well as someone with a financial or accounting background. For more information, contact FCT’s secretary Saralyn Aylor (SaralynA@FCTstage.org), no later than August 1st.

Evita Cast and Production Team Announced!

Evita charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron’s meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33.

The events in Evita’s life are presented in song and commented on by the show’s narrator, Che. Well-known numbers from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece include “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Oh What a Circus,” “Buenos Aires” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall.”

FCT’s production of the musical Evita is directed by Jeff Walker and is presented in the year of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 75th birthday. EVITA is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Really Useful Group. www.concordtheatricals.com.

Cast List Announced for “Once Upon a Mattress”

Congratulations to those who auditioned and received a part in the musical Once Upon a Mattress.

Synopsis:
Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larkin and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans. For after all, a princess is a delicate thing.
 
Fauquier Community Theatre’s production of the musical Once Upon a Mattress is by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
