Fauquier Community Theatre Audition Recap and Casting Results:
Auditions were held virtually on September 24 and 26, 2020 and 70
people signed up. Congratulations to over 40 actors who obtained roles in
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. The play is directed by Fauquier Community Theatre’s Betsy Hansen with Sonia Bronder as
the Assistant Director, Lighting, and Tech Designer.

The beloved American holiday classic will be brought to life as a live
1940s radio broadcast and streamed virtually. With the help of an
ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the virtual screen , the
story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers what’s
meaningful in life on that fateful Christmas Eve in 1946.

New! Fauquier Community Theatre Performing Arts Children’s Education! Classes taught by Katy Benko-Miner and her team will take place on Mondays beginning on September 28 through November 16 for ages 8-16 and will be run virtually online. Classes will consist of acting, singing, and choreography options. Congratulations to all The Lofty Award Recipients for the 2019 – 2020 Season! Awards were presented on June 28, 2020 at the FCT Lofty Awards and Annual Meeting online.

Take Center Stage Second Summer Camp Session by Popular Demand – July 27 – 31, 2020


Take Center Stage! FCT Showcase Camp directed by Katy Benko-Miner for ages 8 -18. The camp takes place virtually online from July 27 to July 31, 2020 from 9:30 am – 2 pm. This one-week fun and educational camp is designed to showcase the talents of young performers. Camp will consist of singing, dancing, and acting. All registrations will be accepted and each camper will be “showcased” in songs, scenes, and roles. The cost of the Take Center Stage! FCT Showcase Theater Camp is: $200 per child and $160 for an additional child in the same family. Registration is first-come, first-served. July 17 &18, 2020: Fourteen all-volunteer theatres from DC, Maryland and Virginia are coming together for a two-day fundraising telethon, to ensure that local performing arts continue to thrive in the Washington DC region for years to come. This one-time event is being coordinated by the Reston Community Players, one of the region’s most established all-volunteer theatre companies.

Lofty Award Nominations

Here is the link to the Lofty Award Nominations for the 2019 – 2020 season. In addition to the award nominations for acting roles, this year’s list announces nominations for Technical and Overall award categories in advance as well.

You may notice that a few Technical categories do not appear in the list, however, rest assured that trophies will be awarded in all qualifying categories. So don’t miss the FCT Annual Meeting and Lofty Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 28, where all will be revealed!

The safety of our actors and audience is the main priority of Fauquier Community Theatre. At this time, all indoor performances, meetings, rehearsals, and classes are on hold. Outdoor events will be considered on a case by case basis. Currently, rehearsals, classes, and summer camps are being held virtually with exciting creativity!

Fauquier Community Theatre enjoyed donating concession items to Fauquier Community Food Bank in time for the goodies to be enjoyed for Easter weekend.
